The CCP Career and College Ready Pathway (P9099A) offers high schools students career exploration and college preparatory coursework, facilitating their transition to college or the workforce.

Students who complete the required supplemental coursework may qualify for any approved CCP Pathway available at participating colleges. This pathway helps students build a strong academic foundation while gaining clarity about their postsecondary goals.


CCR Pathway

Designed for high school students who wish to begin earning college credits towards if your goal is to transfer to a four-year college or university. Please note that these are pathways to a degree, not full degrees. An Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate in Science (AS) degree requires 60+ credit hours. We are happy to advise on how these degrees can be completed at a low cost after high school graduation. The pathways include courses prescribed in the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement for Transferring credits from North Carolina community colleges to the University of North Carolina (UNC) System Institutions.

(CTE) at Johnston Community College offers high school students in North Carolina the opportunity to jumpstart their careers by earning college credits and industry-recognized certifications while still in high school. These pathways provide hands-on training and education in various technical fields, including healthcare, engineering, information technology, and more. Students gain a competitive edge in the job market and get a head start on their college education, preparing them for successful careers in their chosen fields.

There are two Cooperative Innovative High Schools (CIHS) located on Johnston Community College's campus, allows eligible high school students to complete an associate's degree within five years. Eligibility requirements are established jointly by the local board of education and the local board of trustees. Interested rising 9th graders should contact the CIHS directly regarding the application process.
